Norris Edges Out Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice
The British driver has outscored his teammate at each of the previous five race weekends.
The McLaren driver edged out team-mate and title rival the Australian for the fastest time in the final moments of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The British racer, who grabbed the points lead from his teammate by a single point after winning in Mexico City recently, topped the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the leading McLaren for most of the session before sprint qualifying set to begin at 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the other racer in realistic title contention, sitting 36 points Norris, ended up in 17th position as his team followed a unique setup.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to go off, albeit lightly, when he spun at corner four early in the session.
Tsunoda slid over the curbs on exit before sliding over the escape zone, and was fortunate to escape with just a slight brush of the barrier.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton also had a spin, at the conclusion of the practice, rotating twice through the fast downhill Mergulho corner leading to the final corner on to the pit straight.
Hamilton finished practice in 19th, just behind team-mate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren pair were well clear of the remaining drivers, with the German's Sauber third fastest, 0.619secs behind Piastri's pace.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with Sauber's Bortoleto ahead of Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
